Thanks Puyallup Fair Volunteers!

Although one of the wettest fairs and with attendance at the fair down 15% from last year, we had one of our best years.
42 park employees, volunteers, family and friends, joined Jim Ross in 51 shifts at our Mount Rainier National Park booth to "share their glee" with fairgoers at this year's Puyallup Fair. This included three folks from Klondike Gold Rush and one from Visit Rainier. In addition, four others combined to do three shifts at the Hands-on-Arena. All together we recorded over 10,000 fairgoers interacting with the booth and those staffing it.
We greatly appreciate their time and effort representing the park and the park service. Today, more than ever, it is vital that we keep reminding the public of the importance of national parks. Thanks, and lets do it again next September!
